The Civil Engineering and Architecture Faculty educates civil engineers and architects, mainly forthe Lublin region.

For many years, in comparison to all faculties of the Lublin University of Technology, the largest number of candidates applies for studies at the Civil Engineering and Architecture Faculty. Most of the graduates of our Faculty find the employment and after completing the appropriate practice they obtain the building licenses.

Currently almost 1600 students study in two fields:

  • Civil engineering – full-time and part-time studies: first cycle studies with no specialization, second cycle of studies divided in the specializations: building and engineering constructions, technology and organization of construction, repairs and conservation of historical objects, roads and bridges
  • Architecture – first and second cycle full-time studies with no specialization.

Amongst the academic teachers of the Faculty there are 16 civil engineers with design entitlements, 12 civil engineers with executive entitlements, 2 engineers surveyors with entitlements, 5 engineers architects with design entitlements, 1 engineers architect with executive entitlements, 5 construction assessors, 1 assessor empowered by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and 1 assessor empowered by the Association of Polish Architects.

We also undertake the activities aimed at the improvement of the administrative aspects of the educational process. The virtual deanery is fully functional at the Faculty and at the entire university for a few years. It enables the significantsimplification of many activities related to thesupportof the didactics.

The education system is constantly being improved in order to adjust it to the changing requirements of the labour market. In addition to knowledge, our students also acquire the practical skills valued by employers through various internships and practices.

Numerousscientific circlesstimulateinitiative, creativity, provide the futureengineersthe opportunity todevelop their interests, to know the modern research methods (through participation in training sessions, scientific workshops, conferences), to succeed in prestigious contests and to know the potential labour market (through seminars, tours and works for enterprises).

The Student Scientific Circles currently active at the Faculty: Modern Architecture ”ABiK”; Bridge and Road Constructions; SITK; Painting and Drawing MIR, Construction Technology “AEDIFICATIO”, Conservation of Historical Objects “SGRAFFITO”, the Circle ofYoungof the PolishAssociation ofConstruction Engineers and Technicians and IAESTE Local Committee.

Within the ERASMUS programme, the students of Civil Engineering and Architecture Faculty can enrich their knowledge by studying one semester or one year at one of the universities in many European countries. The universities the most frequently chosen by the students: Germany – TechnischeUniversitat Dresden, Martin Luther Universitat Halle, TechnischeUniversitat Hamburg; Denmark – University College of Aarhaus; Sweden – Dalarna University; Spain – Universidade De Santiago De Compostella, Universidade De Las Palmas; Czech Republic – Technical University of Prague; Great Britain – The University of Glasgow, The University of Brighton; Turkey – Selcuk University, Konya.

Since 2007 the Faculty also offers studies in English for the foreigners. Inter alia the citizens of Turkey, Spain and Portugal started the studies. Proportion of foreign students at the Civil Engineering and Architecture Faculty is the highest of all the units of the Lublin University of Technology.
